⚡ KPP Gabungan in 30 Seconds

• What is it? — Combined motorcycle + car theory course, one class covers all licences (except Class E)
• When? — From 29 Aug 2025. Combined car+moto candidates take 70Q Gabungan; single car or moto candidates still take 50Q. Fully rolled out by 2026.

What is KPP Gabungan? 2026 Latest Policy Explained

KPP Gabungan is JPJ's new driving education curriculum launched on 29 August 2025. It merges the previously separate motorcycle (B2) and car (D/DA) theory courses into one unified programme.

Why the change? To simplify the process and reduce redundant classes. Previously, adding a car licence to a motorcycle licence required re-taking KPP01 theory class and exam. Under the new system, one KPP Gabungan certificate (JPJL2A) is valid permanently — adding any vehicle class later only requires a supplementary textbook at RM5.

Key clarification: KPP Gabungan does NOT mean everyone takes 70 questions. Only combined car+motorcycle candidates take 70Q; single car (D/DA) or single motorcycle (B/B2) candidates still take 50Q. However, most driving schools prioritise Gabungan combined classes from Oct 2025 (get dual licence in one go).

Applicable to: Classes A, B2, B, C, A1, D, DA and heavy machinery F/G/H/I. Not applicable to Class E (requires Class D for 1 year first).

⚠️ Colour Blindness / Plate Test: Must Get All Correct

The colour blindness / licence plate recognition test is conducted separately before the 70Q theory exam — 5-10 image/plate questions, all must be correct. Get 1 wrong and you'll be sent to a government hospital for an eye exam before you can retake. This is the #1 pitfall for Chinese candidates. 1.Focus on Bab 2 — the new "Driving Ethics" chapter is the #1 pitfall, missing from old question banks
2.Complete all 700+ questions — don't just memorise answers, understand the reasoning
3.BM/English question banks are identical. Chinese candidates generally find English driving terms (brake/indicator) more familiar than Malay (brek/isyarat) — study in Chinese first, then practice in English; if your BM is strong, BM is perfectly fine
4.75 min for 70 questions = ~1 min each — more time than old format, but don't dawdle on unknowns

Q1Is KPP Gabungan hard? What's the pass rate?▼

ACombined format: 70 questions, need 56 correct (80%), 75 minutes. More questions than old 50Q/42P, but also more time. The biggest challenge is the new Bab 2 Driving Ethics chapter. We recommend scoring 56+ on 3 mock exams before attempting the real test.

Q2Can I take the exam in Chinese?▼

ANo. JPJ offers only BM (Malay) and English. The BM and English question banks are identical. Chinese candidates generally find English driving terms (brake/indicator) more familiar than Malay (brek/isyarat) — study in Chinese first, then practice in English; if your BM is strong, BM is perfectly fine too.

Q3What if I fail? How many retakes?▼

AComputer test can be retaken. After 3 consecutive computer test failures, you can apply for a written test; if the written test also fails and JPJL2A expires within 1 year, you must re-register for KPP Khas special class. Retake fee: RM17 + 8% SST. Analyse mistakes and focus on weak chapters before retrying.

Q4How much does the exam cost? Retake fee?▼

AFirst attempt: RM27 + 8% SST (includes theory eBook). Retake: RM17 + 8% SST. Driving school theory class is separate, usually RM350-RM500 in a package. Practical test fees are additional (RM800-RM1,500 full package).

Q5Can I self-study without driving school?▼

AYou cannot skip classes entirely. The 6-hour KPP01 theory class is legally mandatory by JPJ — attendance is recorded in mySIKAP, and without attendance records you cannot register for the computer exam. However, you can absolutely self-study with our question bank before/after class, treating the 6 hours as a review rather than learning from scratch. This is how most of our users pass first try (56+/70). The Gabungan reform only removes the need to retake the 6-hour class when adding licence classes later — it does not eliminate the theory class.

AThe KPP Gabungan theory certificate (JPJL2A) is permanently valid — no need to retake theory when adding vehicle classes. However, the LDL learning licence is valid for 2 years; if you don't complete practical training in time, you must re-register.

AInstant! The screen shows PASS or FAIL immediately after submitting, along with your score. If you pass, you can print JPJL2A certificate on the same day. The driving school applies for your LDL (L licence) with JPJ — usually received within 1-2 weeks.
